Chris Gwilliam – Managing Director
Chris has over 15 years’ experience in property development, architecture and planning. After gaining a degree in architecture from Bath University (RIBA part 1), Chris worked for several architect firms before moving to a commercial property development company as Director of Planning and Architecture.
Following a move to London, he worked for a large residential property developer as Senior Project Manager where he gained experience in all aspects of the property industry. Chris was subsequently appointed as Group Planning Manager before launching Ideal Planning & Design in 2008. Chris has experience of a broad spectrum of projects, from domestic scale house extensions and loft conversions, up to large housing schemes for 150 new homes and 400,000sqft mixed used office, leisure and retail and city centre developments.
Jason Vince – Director
Jason has been a successful residential property developer for the last 15 years. He has obtained planning permission, built and sold over 200 flats and houses in south east England. Jason has a wealth of experience working within all aspects of the property development industry, from inception through to sale. He provides invaluable advice to both the company and clients on property development, project management and financial issues.
Kate Logue – Senior Architect
A qualified ARB Architect, Kate’s main interest lies in residential architecture. Following her graduation from Newcastle University in 2008, Kate has gained nearly ten years of wide-ranging architectural experience which has given her an excellent understanding of the construction industry. She began her career designing extravagant tree houses for the Amazon Tree House Company based in Scotland, and once featured on Scottish TV’S breakfast show The Hour to discuss a project. Her approach to design reflects her deep understanding of how people engage physically with their surroundings. Outside of work Kate is a keen runner, skier and swimmer, often running home from work even in the coldest, wettest conditions!
Pawel Bednarczyk – Senior Architectural Technologist
Pawel is an Associate of Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists and has an MSc degree in Civil Engineering and a Postgraduate Certificate in Structural Engineering. He has over ten years experience working for architectural firms with detailed knowledge of detailed construction design and building regulations in both the residential and commercial sectors. Originally from Poland, outside of work Pawel has a keen interest in skiing and travelling.
Amandeep Matharu – Architectural Technician
Amandeep is a hardworking and driven member of the team with a passionate approach to architecture and several years post RIBA Part 1 qualification experience. Having worked in various architectural sectors before joining Ideal Planning & Design, he uses his experience together with his creativity to prepare a lot of our Building Regulations drawings and construction details. With a keen eye for design and construction detailing, he enjoys making sure that his work is of the highest quality.
Sayed Shahrestani – Architectural Assistant
Sayed joined Ideal Planning and Design after graduating in Part II Architecture (with Distinction in Design) from the University of East London in 2015. As part of his final university project he played a key role in the design and construction of two pavilions commissioned at the London Festival of Architecture and Venice Biennale 2014. Prior to joining the practice, Sayed worked for AMBS Architects where he enhanced his design and technical skills learnt at university. He is currently working towards his Part III Architectural Examination at the prestigious Bartlett School of Architecture at UCL which will enable him to become a fully qualified Architect.
Lawrence Simmons – Planning Consultant
Lawrence was previously the Town Planning policy manager for Royal Mail Group and has more recently been working at senior planning officer level in various local authorities in the south east. As well as his consultancy work, Lawrence has found time to give voluntary planning assistance to members of the community through the RTPI’s Planning Aid service and his local Preservation Society. Lawrence is an honours graduate in Town and Country Planning from Oxford Brookes and a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
Greg Spence – Accounts & Operations Manager
Greg hails from the IT industry where he has served in a variety of technical, management, and consulting roles. His resume includes clients ranging from British Airways and Marks & Spencer to consulting giants such as Dun & Bradstreet Software Services and departments in the Government of Kuwait. Greg has over a decade of experience developing and maintaining complex accounting and payroll systems. He has experience in all aspects of accounts and operations management.
Leian Moses – Secretary and Administrator
Leian has over 10 years experience in office administration work. She is a logical and well organised administrator who is reliable, responsible and used to working in fast paced environments and working with a variety of different of client groups. Very enthusiastic, she supports the team with their deadlines however she can. When not at work, Leian enjoys spending time with her children and volunteering as a club leader for Southwark Scouts group.
